Clinical Focus Hello! My name is Dr. B. and I am a licensed certified social worker. I also hold a PhD in Social Work and my past research explored the intersection of trauma and women involved in the criminal justice system. I have over ten years of experience working in different practice settings and am one of the founders of Magdalene Serenity House in Fayetteville, a two year residential program to help women rebuild their lives after incarceration. I have been trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and am a certified Smart Recovery Facilitator. I have received significant training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and enjoy using this modality in both individual and group sessions. I use a strengths-based and trauma informed approach in my work with clients and provide a safe, comforting, and non-judgmental space for healing and transformation.
I specialize in working with clients ages 15 and up, and work with individuals, couples, and families. I have several years of experience and training working with clients with severe and persistent mental illness, substance use disorder, mood disorders, personality disorders, PTSD, suicidal thoughts/behaviors, ADHD/Autism, gender dysphoria, and adjustment disorders. My most recent practice experience was working with veterans and I especially enjoy working with this client population. My practice is LGBTQIA+ friendly and affirming.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter, exploring all the parks and kid-friendly activities in Northwest Arkansas. I enjoy playing sports and have brought home several championships on both my co-ed softball and volleyball team. My favorite time of the year is March Madness and I am a die-hard Kansas Basketball fan. My favorite place to be is at an amusement park riding roller coasters, or curled up on my couch watching reality TV or a scary movie!
