Clinical Focus As a licensed therapist with training in EMDR therapy, I devote my time to working with clients to move through difficult life transitions or overcome past trauma. I hold a Master's and PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling as well as a 500hr Advanced Yoga Teacher Certification. I have also pursued further training in Perinatal Maternal Mental Health. My work with clients is informed by these various trainings as well as my own meditation and movement practices. My clients are primarily adult women navigating life transitions (college/career, parenthood, divorce, or family discord). Much of my work also involves helping clients move through past traumatic experiences using EMDR and talk therapy. While the range of these experiences vary widely, many of my clients have experienced childhood abuse or neglect, sexual assault, home break-ins, car accidents, partner abuse, or religious trauma.
I enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ populations, and my practice is friendly and affirming. In my spare time... I enjoy trips to the farmer's market, reading a good book on a patio, and spending time outside. I spend a good bit of time reading and writing and set a yearly reading goal of 100 books per year (many of these are audiobooks - let's not get carried away). Yoga is a central part of my life, and sharing movement with others through yoga is one of the best parts of my week. I also enjoy running and am currently training for my first "Bay to Breakers." If I can work in some time in my garden, all the better. Podcasts, documentaries, and peppermint tea -- these are a few of my favorite things.
