Education MS, Social Work BA, Sociology & Criminal Justice Credentials Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) Trained Clinical Focus Throughout the course of my career, I have primarily worked with adolescents and adults who come from diverse backgrounds with a variety of challenges. Much of my treatment specializations can benefit those who struggle with issues related to OCD, OCPD, trauma, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, life adjustments, being in the LGBTQIA+ community, relationship challenges, and more. From my experience, I have learned that many of us are meaning-making creatures who want to live out our values to the best of our abilities. At times, this can feel impossible without adequate support and tools. My intention is to guide you in living a more meaningful life by building trust, showing compassion, and providing a non-judgmental space where you feel empowered to walk through the complexities of life.
For me, I know building a secure therapeutic relationship is crucial to the process. I aim to achieve this by bringing genuine curiosity, warmth, humor, and authenticity into my sessions. Coming from a social work background, I also have a deep understanding of how systems impact each of us uniquely. It is my goal to honor these circumstances using a person-in-environment framework and following it with trauma-informed care. I currently have training in ERP, ACT, DBT, and TF-CBT. If any of these approaches feel like a good match for you, I would be privileged to work alongside you in reaching your goals.
Therapeutic books that have impacted me most are Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl, The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk, Attached by Amir Levine, Social Justice in Clinical Practice by Martinez and Fleck-Henderson, and Letters to a Young Therapist by Mary Pipher. Honorable mentions that are not textbook therapeutic, but therapeutic to many are The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion, The Body is Not an Apology by Sonya Renee Taylor, and What My Bones Know by Stephanie Foo.
In my spare time... I have learned that rest and play are imperative to my well-being. I prioritize spending time with those who help me feel nourished, reading fiction and memoirs, enjoying art, seeing my favorite musicians, playing with my dog, being near bodies of water, thrifting, and obsessing over horror movies.
